Anika Noni Rose is an American actress and singer. She is best known for her voice of Tiana as Tiana in The Princess and the Frog The very first African American Disney princess. Disney Legend was bestowed upon her in the year 2011. Rose appeared in Lorrell Robinson, the Academy Award winning film Dreamgirls. Anika Rose was born on the 6th of September, 1972. She is a famous American actress and singer. The most famous of her roles was her character Tiana the Princess from Disney. She is the first African American Princess in The Princess and the Frog (2009). Disney Legends named her one in 2011. She is also known for her starring role as Lorrell Robinson in the Oscar-winning movie Dreamgirls (2006) as well as for being the character her character LaVerne JUKEBOX Ganner as part of the Starz program Power. She is also known for her theatre performances, specifically in her leading roles as Emmie Thibodeaux, in Caroline or Change, the Broadway show Caroline or Change (2004) where she received the Tony Award for Best Featured Actress in a Musical and Beneatha Younger in the Broadway production of A Raisin in the Sun (2014) in which she was nominated for the Tony Award for Best Featured actor in a Musical.
